Why isn't my device working after I replaced the coin lithium battery?
When the battery is used incorrectly, the device frequently malfunctions. This, in turn, has several possible causes:
- The battery is inserted backwards, with the plus and minus poles reversed. If the battery has been in this position for more than an hour, its contents may have been consumed and it will no longer work.
- The battery does not fit properly in the holder, resulting in poor contact. Check that you're using the right battery size for your device and that the cells are in contact with the terminals.
- The battery holder or the battery itself is dirty, resulting in poor contact. At all times, insert a clean battery into a clean holder.
- The battery has deformed and no longer connects to both terminals. Even though a coin battery is small, it can deform when stressed. In this case, recycle the battery and replace it.
